Rock On Postcard: Rejected
I created this postcard image for my mom, Denise Vega so she could announce the publication of her book, Rock On. The book is obviously the star of the show, hence the heavenly spotlight. I chose to create a simple, earthy background not only to keep the attention focused on the book, but also to reinforce the humble nature of the book's main character, Ori. This design ended up being rejected in favor of the one shown below. Ultimately the natural background of grass and mountains wasn't relevant enough to the subject matter.

This was the design used for the actual distributed postcards. The concert announcement poster theme makes more sense given the book's context. I'm not fonder of one design over another, I'm just glad I was able to produce something that works well!
